Parts of my Life
Brief About Me!
I am a rising sophomore at Jesuit High School and an aspiring international relations major.
My main passion is spreading literacy, and I work towards this goal through two approaches. On the research side, I focus on integrating AI capabilities into award-winning science fair projects focusing on adolescents and education. I also work under PSU Psychology Professor Cynthia Mohr in the DYADIC Health Lab analyzing behavioral Science patterns. On the advocacy side, I build awareness through public speaking, publishing books, and community initiatives.
As Team Captain of my debate team, I help my teammates turn their ideas into strong arguments in various events, including Parliamentary and Public Forum. I am also a self published author of Parts of a Whole, a children's books series that educates kids on values such as self-acceptance, gratitude, and sharing. As Miss Teen Washington County, I use my platform to raise awareness on disparities in literacy. I am also a teacher at Digital Doodlers, a coding nonprofit, where I help students build confidence in their ability to solve problems and expand access to coding literacy. Through my leadership in the Teen Library Council, I help create an inclusive space so adolescents can feel supported. Finally, as an immigrant who understands the struggles of settling into a new home, I volunteer at the Hurtado Center where I teach English to non-native English speakers and help them prepare for the citizenship test.
